Ahead of Super Bowl, Brady Walking in NYC With Boot

2008_01_bradygirl.jpgTom Brady sure loves New York, huh? Not only does he walk around town wearing a Yankees hat, but he comes here to spend time with his ubermodel girlfriend Gisele Bundchen in the weeks leading up to the Super Bowl. Brady was spotted walking to Bundchen's West Village apartment Monday carrying flowers (how sweet) and wearing a protective boot on his right foot.

About the injury, Brady said that it's not a big deal, "Ah, you know, there's always bumps and bruises. I'll be ready for the Super Bowl. I'm not worried about that. I'm not missing this one. I'd have to be on a stretcher to miss this one. There will be treatment this week. In games like this, you get a little nicked up. It's nothing serious."

While Brady says the injury isn't serious, The Post talked to Dr. Rock Positano, a foot and ankle specialist from the Hospital for Special Surgery, about the injury. Dr. Positano said that if you're wearing the cam walker (the boot), "that usually means you're hurting. He's sustained some kind of trauma that requires immobilization. This is not just a simple strain or a sprain." While it's obviously impossible to know what Brady's injury is, that didn't stop the good doctor from speculating about an injury to the metatarsals or Achilles' tendon. "The fact that he's in a cam walker should make Giants fans very optimistic, and should certainly make Michael Strahan, or any defenseman who sees that, salivate."

The Patriots had no comment on the photos of Brady walking around. Perhaps the injury was one cause for the relatively poor performance against the Chargers in the AFC Championship when Brady was 22/33 for 209 yards, 2 TDs and 3 INTs.

Something about this says "conspiracy" to me. Maybe Belicheck is trying to remind his players that this thing is not decided already. Or they're trying to bait the Giants into being overconfident. Or they're trying to alter the point spread. Whatever the case, I put nothing past that evil genius in Foxboro.

A total non-issue. All he has to do is stand in the pocket and maybe move a step or two in either direction. Whatever. I do think it's funny however that he's shacked up in NYC before the Superbowl against the Giants.

Can we pull Tonya Harding out of the wordworks to get real, here? Bootsies are cute in front of your supermodel girlfriend, but I bet Brady bawls like Nancy Kerrigan when a a real fat schlub whacks him in the knee.

whocares...i'd take brady over eli any day

conspiracy? hardly. i just hope the giants don't get soft.

I love that the Post called Tom Brady a "Girlie Man"! Is that after seeing his Stetson ads?

I hope nobody pulls a Nancy Kerrigan on him while he's in New York City...because that would be totally unsportsman-like.

Later that evening, he was not wearing the boot. Don't get excited Giants fans!

it's a ploy. I remember a supposed gimpy Curt Schilling with a bloody ankle and then he pitches against the Yankees. This is just some bullshit Boston Tea party crap to make Brady more heroic if he wins.

Belichick will motivate the Pats by showing them all of their own errors from the SD game. He isn't playing mind games with the NYG. If the Giants want to think that...

Curt had his ankle stitched together. Tom has a sprained ankle that's not as bad as the bum ankle he played on in the Super Bowl in 2002. He came out of the AFC title game in 2002.
