Is That Motor Purring?

Our heart melted when we read how this adorable kitten made its way to the Brooklyn Animal Resource Coalition:

BARC Shelter's kennel manager, Jose, made an unusual rescue last Saturday afternoon. A man named Richard thinks he has a kitten under the hood of his Chevy Tahoe. He's driving and has his dog Duff in the car with him. Duff doesn't like other dogs and really doesn't like cats. Richard decides to drive to the shelter. No, not the safest solution, but the kitten we call Chevette is safe and sound if a little greasy. She also needs a home and prefers public transportation, in a cat carrier please!
Chevette is available for adoption. We think her favorite movie will end up being either Grease (duh) or My Neighbor Totoro (catbus).

UPDATE: Not surprisingly, it did not take long for Chevette to be adopted. Support BARC; it's a great organization.

I can't resist topping this....my nephew is a printer in Ma. A truck rolled in from New Jersey and one of the guys unloading it found four two week old kittens in a drum...they knew to take it to my nephew. He played Mama to two of them giving the other two to his sister in law (who had worked for a vet), waking up to feed them every hour or so for weeks. They said they were giving them up for adoption...no way...all four kittens survived, he kept his two, the sister in law gave one away...they turned out to be full blooded Russian Blues...they are named after printing presses. One of them, Flint, thinks the Xmas tree is put up every year for him and spends pretty much the entire season in the tree...no breakable ornaments allowed. I have a picture of Flint in the tree but don't know how to upload it.
