May 29, 2007 was the last time Stepha Henry, a John Jay honors graduate, was seen. The Brooklyn resident had been visiting an aunt in Miami when she went missing and as months went on, her mother quit her job and moved to Florida to search for Stepha while John Jay classmates and faculty held fund-raisers to help the family. Today, Miami-Dade detectives, along with members of the NYPD, arrested a man in New York for killing Henry.

The Miami Herald reports that Kendrick Williams had picked up Henry on May 29, taking her to a nightclub. Williams had claimed he left before Henry and thought the police said the 32-year-old was not a suspect, they found the car he used that night and apparently enough evidence to get a warrant. Williams was arrested at the Canarsie pier and is being interviewed.

Henry's body is still missing, and a Miami-Dade police spokesman said, "Questions still remain. Our detectives have been aggressively working this case, and they will continue to aggressively work this case. This is far from over."

Back in June, when the case was still fresh, a Miami-Dade police spokesman and Miami Herald reporter revealed they had been asked to speak on MSNBC about the Henry case - only to be bumped off the air by Paris Hilton coverage. The Reverend Al Sharpton had previously complained that the police weren't doing enough to investigate Henry's disappearance or the death of another young Brooklyn woman, Chanel Petro-Nixon. Petro-Nixon was last seen applying for a job; there is a $33,000 rewards for details leading to the arrest and conviction of her killer.
