"introducing technology to limit delivery truck idling"
It's called a fucking ignition switch, most often operated with a key. Idiots.
Now that SP has figured that one out, maybe Fresh Direct could start finding a way to cut down on how much cardboard they use.
I stopped ordering from F.D. after getting a shipment that included one lonely onion rolling around by itself in an enormous cardboard box.
I read the "fast-casual" piece in the Times yesterday. Lenny's does not belong in that genre; it is nothing more than a deli/sandwich shop.
Actually, Fresh Direct is moving towards eliminating the cardboard boxes in the next 3 years and replacing them with recyclable plastic totes and grocery bags. I got an email from them a while back with an update on their environmental initiatives. They're certainly not a perfect company, but I do think they take customer requests/complaints seriously and try to address them.
