A tipster sends over what they describe as "a really rad clip of downtown Manhattan totally flooded, under what looks like 25 feet of water." We think it's more scary than it is rad...scarier than a fictional monster attacking New York. The real fear of what could be our future is shown below in what's part of Six Degrees Could Change the World which "explores the potential impacts of global warming degree-by-degree—through six degrees over the next hundred years."
Here's a map of what the city could look like if we don't confront the problem.

2051 and they still haven't finished the new World Trade Center. Seems spot on to me.
I live on the high ground of Riverside Drive in the 120's. Riverside Park bluffs will protect me so I'm not worried in the least. Bring on the floods.

Death to America!
Wow. There was a storm surge, but apparently, the water isn't receding, even though this storm is clearly over. The water must be trapped inside those imaginary levees Manhattan has.
I assume this means the F train isn't running?
What's the matter, is a simple little flood the best they can come up with in this day and age of "destroy New York City?" No meteors, tsunamis or nuclear bombs?
ew...east river water
great job Jen another stolen post from gawker!
This isn't so crazy. When I used to work downtown, in the Financial District, a while back it flooded so bad once the NYPD had to bring people out of their offices in little dinghys, no joke. I'm sure other people remember this as well. Lower Manhattan is well, low.
I assume this means the F train isn't running?
No different than any other freakin' night.
This is a Bronx-bound Staten Island Ferry, making all local stops...
