OMG: Celebrity Baby Derby

We almost thought that the NY Post website was offering a game of "Which one of these things is not like the other?" But it turns out that celebrities Christina Aguilera, Nicole Richie, Courtney Thorne-Smith and David Alan Grier all had babies. The four babies - two boys (from Aguilera and Thorne-Smith) and two girls (Richie's and Grier's) - were born at Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai, the hospital where Britney Spears was recently hospitalized and where Dennis Quaid's twin babies were given an adult dose (therefore an overdose) of a blood thinner.

When you actually read the Post article, poor Thorne-Smith's and Grier's babies seem like afterthoughts. Clearly, being former Fox stars only buys a mention - not ecstatic coverage.

And speaking of having babies, the Ricki Lake's documentary about birth practices in America, The Business of Being Born, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival last year, is in theaters now. Lake's first son was born at St. Luke's-Roosevelt; her second son was born in her West Village apartment.

Can anyone explain to me how Nicole Richie was ever considered attractive and/or why she's a celebrity?

I think Grier's baby is more famous than David himself at this point.
