Noteworthy Television This Weekend: Get Terminated

Terminator_The_Sarah_Connor_Chronicles.jpgIf you are as big a fan of reality shows as we are, Fox’s Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (Sunday, 8:00 p.m., WNYW 5) is very welcome. Thanks to the WGA strike, there will be only eight episodes, but still this looks like an action packed romp based on the popular film series.

Despite being based on the space time continuum bending robot filled movies, this has an all new cast with Lena Headley and Thomas Dekker playing Sarah and John Connor and Summer Glau playing a new protective terminator.

And there should be no worries about the show terminating the Simpsons’ time slot, since the show moves into its normal place on the schedule Monday at 9 p.m.

Also of Note This Weekend:
Eye on the Storm: Extreme Winter Weather (Saturday, 7:30 p.m.; Sunday 11:30 a.m., WCBS 2) The CBS 2 weather team and their partners at The Weather Channel take a look at all the types of weather that can strike the tri-state area during the winter.

Reel 13 (Saturday, 8:00 p.m., WNET 13) One classic film presented by Richard Pena, director of the Film Society of Lincoln Center, and one indie film presented by media critic - all with a viewer selected short in between are part of channel thirteen’s new movie line up. This week it is Peter Sellers as Inspector Clouseau in A Shot in the Dark and an indie from down under The Rage In Placid Lake which is sort of an Aussie Napoleon Dynamite.

Golden Globes (Sunday, 9 p.m., NBC, TV Guide, others) : The news conference is now open to all networks that want to carry it.

Terminator is getting rave reviews everywhere. Can't wait to watch.

Don't forget episode two of season five of The Wire. Oh, McNulty, you little scamp!

Uh, I watched the first episode and it was pretty horrible. The production values blow, and the cyborg character's apparent youth is ridiculous. If there were an interesting storyline my suspension of disbelief would be distracted, but sadly that did not happen...
