Near-Record Warmth Tomorrow

Remember that cold weather last week? The coldest day was Thursday when the temperature was seventeen degrees below normal. Today the weather pendulum swings way in the other direction as it should be twenty degrees above normal. Tomorrow we should be even warmer, at 25 degrees above normal. For those of you who haven't bothered to memorize the climate normals that works out to a high in the upper-50s today and lower-60s tomorrow. Tomorrow's record high is 65 set way back in 1998.
There's one loose cannon that may make the warm weather forecast go astray: Clouds. And fog. Make that two loose cannons. Gothamist sees an overcast sky out our window. Some sun is going to have to break through in order for it to warm much further today. Tomorrow should be warmer despite morning fog and a mostly overcast sky.
A cold front is expected to arrive around noon on Wednesday. That means rain should begin late Tuesday night and end midday Wednesday. Thursday should cool off to 50 degrees, which is still some twelve degrees above average. More seasonably appropriate temperatures should arrive next weekend.

That's still just one loose cannon, since fog is just a very low cloud.
