Police Looking for Meat Cleaver-Wielding Mugger

The NYPD released a photograph of a man who attacked a woman with a meat cleaver in Brooklyn two weeks ago. Yes, a meat cleaver!

The attack occurred on December 22, around 11PM (Was the NYPD motivated to release this information on the heels of the NY Times' "Best Meat Cleavers" feature?). The 52-year-old victim had been descending the 18th Avenue F subway station stairs, when, WNBC reports, "the suspect approached and grabbed her and demanded her property." He used a meat cleaver to threaten her and cut her hand before taking the her purse. The victim was treated at Maimonides Hospital.

Here's the surveillance camera photograph the police released; the suspect is described as a thin man in his 30s, about 5'9".
