- Vancouver 3 Rangers 0: They kept trying and trying, but they simply could not break through. Roberto Luongo made big save after big save as he withstood 27 Rangers' shots to record the shutout. Ryan Kessler scored the first goal of the contest in the second period off of a tough angle that Stephon Valiquette couldn’t handle. Fedor Tyutin got caught on a pinch late in the third period that the Canuks turned into a 2-on-1 opportunity and the second goal of the game. Vancouver added a power-play goal moments later to complete the scoring.
New York has had a tough start to 2008 and will look to rebound Saturday night in Edmonton.
- Florida 4 Islanders 3 (OT): The Islanders scrapped their way back into this game in the third period, tying things up on a goal from Bill Guerin, but Florida proved to be too much. Jassen Cullimore got the puck near the point and blasted a shot past Rick DiPietro for the OT win.
- Clemens says it was B-12 and Lidocaine he was injected with: Gee Roger, it took three weeks to come up with the same excuses that Barry Bonds and Rafael Palmeiro used?

Western Canada seems to eat up most eastern teams when they make their annual trip. Let's see what the Isles can accomplish when they head there soon.
For now, at least they scraped out a point!
There's only one "S" in "Kesler" and I think you have the Knicks on the brain with that misspelling of Stephen Valiquette.
Generally speaking, poor effort from the Rangers. The third and fourth lines continued to show good energy but the top two didn't make enough of an impact. And on the one hand you want to give Valiquette credit for keeping a close game, but on the other hand Vancouver's first goal was SOFT SOFT SOFT.
