- Senators 5, Islanders 2: Any time Wade Dubielewicz is seeing significant time in goal for the Islanders, things can't be going that well. He made 32 saves -- but allowed five goals -- as the Senators romped past New York and snapped the Isles' three-game winning streak. Dubielewicz played because Rick Di Pietro sprained his ankle in Wednesday's win over Toronto. The No. 1 goalie is day to day -- aren't we all? -- and could play Saturday against New Jersey.
But Dubielewicz doesn't deserve all the blame. Ottawa has plenty of talent and the highest points total in the Eastern Conference. After stonewalling to a scoreless first period, the Senators put up three goals in the middle session to suck the drama out of this one. Bill Guerin scored both Islanders goals, with the second coming in garbage time.

Please realize that the Islanders cannot beat Ottawa, under any circumstances. We thought we had thrown away the kryptonite when we got rid of Yashin, but it doesn't matter. It's just a franchise that the Isles cannot defeat.
Dubie isnt' that bad. I think the most unfortunate thing is that DP and Dubie are so different in net; and the D-men can't adjust that easily to the changes. Dubie is a good short term person, but when DP can typucaly play up to 60-65 games a season, that backup won't see much action.
