Is Stephon Ever Coming Back?

2007_12_marbury2.jpgIsiah Thomas brought that question to the forefront yesterday when he responded “I don’t know” to a reporter’s question wondering if there was a chance Stephon Marbury would not come back to the team. The Knicks’ VP for media relations, Jonathan Supranowitz tried to defuse the situation later by saying he had spoken to Marbury and that he would return shortly after the New Year, but the damage was done.

Marbury is obviously having a tough time with the death of his father like anyone would, but the Knicks have gone to extraordinary lengths to help him. Since Don Marbury died on December 2nd, Stephon has appeared in only three games and spent the majority of the time away from the team. The grieving process is a difficult one, but Marbury owes it to the team to either start playing or take an unpaid leave of absence at this point.

Could this be an attempt by Marbury to extricate himself from his increasingly unhappy marriage to the Knicks? It’s easy to jump to that conclusion, but perhaps the way the Knicks are handling this is more telling. Maybe they are hoping that Marbury will simply walk away from it all and retire. Whatever the answer, both parties would probably be better off and happier with a divorce.

Isn't there some team in Turkey or Italy that can use a stupid punk like Marbury? How about a trade for one of those jump shooting 7'2" European "centers."

I can't wait for the New Year to see what happens!

Stephon has naked pics of Isiah with another woman that's why he's got him by the balls and Isiah's got naked pictures of Dolan with a little boy, that's why he'gs got Dolan by the balls. Anyone else in the league and Stephon would be shooting hoops in milwaukee on the bench. He's filing a grievance for the 180,000 dollar fine he incurred while leaving the knicks a month ago, while collecting checks that clock in at 250,000 for each game that he's missed since his bereavement which is already more than 2 million and counting!!!!! that's the Knicks fans money. that's right. You paid an exorbitant amount of money to see a petulant "best point guard in the Nba!" go AWOL. The knicks suck and every day the black hole gets bigger. this is just like 2001 when every day you didn't think the bush presidency couldn't get worst and then bam! 9/11 happens. I wonder what the Knicks 9/11 will be.
