- Rangers 4 Carolina 2: Putting Gomez on the top line certainly looked like a smart decision Wednesday. Gomez fed Jarmoir Jagr, helping him get nine shots and setting him up on both of his goals in the Rangers’ win. Chris Drury and Dan Girardi also scored for New York.
The game was stopped midway through the second period after an ugly collision between Colton Orr and former Ranger Matt Cullen. Cullen took this worst of it as he was momentarily knocked unconscious and had to leave the game. While it didn’t look intentional, the referee assessed an interference penalty and a game misconduct on Orr. Orr should expect to hear from the league office in Toronto shortly.
- Orlando 110 Knicks 96: The great lineup shuffle occurred, but the choices are hard to understand. Instead of benching Eddy Curry, Zach Randolph was sent to the pine in favor of David Lee. And, Quentin Richardson was moved to the two spot with Jared Jeffries starting at the three. Curry rewarded his coach’s faith with two quick fouls in the first three minutes of the game and spent almost the entire remainder of the contest on the bench. Now we will have to see if Curry returns to the starting lineup Sunday.
- Islanders 4 Toronto 3 (OT): Richard Park busted out of the penalty box, grabbed the puck and put it on net. While he didn’t score, his shot left a big rebound that Mike Comrie stuffed home for a dramatic win. Unfortunately, all the news is not good for the Islanders as Rick DiPietro had to leave the game after one period with what is being described as an “undetermined knee injury”.
- Detroit 101 Nets 83: New Jersey kept it close through the first half, but Richard Hamilton and the Pistons proved to be too much.

isiah needs to go
one of the best ranger games i've seen this season.
shut up. Isiah should stay and be given a contract extension for the next ten years. Knicks fans did it to themselves because they keep going to games. Off the court antics are much more entertaining than anything the knicks have ever done on court. I prefer my Knicks to be predictable losers than getting to the finals in 94 and 99 and losing. This is NY. no championship = failure. oh yeah. when is starbury coming back? i miss his grimace and his "I'm the best point guard in the NBA!" deluded proclamations.
Blake came back, and rightfully got booed since he left for money. though i loved him as an Islander, you had to laugh when he coughed up the puck to Park which set up the game winner. Isles on a nice roll now, even without DP.
Here I assumed Blake got booed because he's still a douchebag, just like he was when he was an Islander, a King and a Sioux.
Still, it's nice to see all eight Islanders fans getting behind something.
When do the Knicks start docking Marbury's pay? How long ago did his father die, a month ago? How much time does he need to recover in order to play a basketball game?
you mean all 15,000 fans...
Hey that's progress for us!
