Okay, maybe pets aren't so into the holidays, except when it comes to scraps that fall to the floor or the prospect of a new chew toy. But that doesn't mean that pet owners aren't enthusiastic about projecting the spirit of the season onto Fido and Fluffy.
Clockwise, from the top left, we have: Delco the West Brighton wanna-be (and possibly reluctant) reindeer, photograph by walkwpack, a reader on SILive.com; a cute Christmas tree dog during the Tompkins Square Park Halloween Parade, photograph by istolethetv on Flickr); and Madison, a Manhattan tabby, in Christmas garb, photograph by, um, us!
For what it's worth, Pet Fashion Week 2008 will be held in NYC next August.

Again with the pet dressing! Their owners should be reported to the authorities and arrested for animal cruelty.
Coincidence that both cats look like they'd prefer euthanasia than endure further humiliation?
I'd have to agree that this is a form of animal cruelty. The only dressing of an animal that wouldn't be is winter boots, since they protect the feet of the dog or cat from salt which is harmful to their paw pads.
I have no problem with boots or sweaters that protect hairless pets or keep them warm, but forcing them to wear uncomfortable outfits and headgears for the owners' own amusements are just cruel! And I don't give a fuck that you "think" your pets enjoy it, their expressions certainly don't confirm that! I am totally anti-PETA but this is an issue that need their style of militancy to get the public's attention!
Cruel? Cats have brains the size of a pea. They won't remember what happened in 48 hours.
What I do is photoshop the holiday outfits onto the cats. That way no actual outfits need to be put on the cats!
