Passenger Argument Turns Murderous on City Bus

cleanairbus.jpgAn argument between two men on a Manhattan bus this morning ended in a homicide, as one man stabbed the other to death. The incident occurred at 9:40 a.m. on the M101 bus that runs northbound on 3rd Avenue. A 52-year-old man was arguing with a 40-year-old man, when the bus stopped at 96th St. on the Upper East Side and the older man stabbed the younger in the leg. The victim was taken to Metropolitan Hospital where he died from his wounds.

Police have the unidentified stabber in custody and recovered the knife used in the crime. The bus driver was unable to intervene in the argument, but did keep the doors of the bus open as other passengers made a hasty exit. NY1 reports that there are plans to install digital surveillance cameras on all city buses, although it's unclear how that would have prevented or changed the outcome of this particular incident.

    "who carries a chef's knife at 9am?"

he probably just picked up the 15 piece Wolfgang Puck Santoku Cutlery Set for his wife for Christmas and used the 8 inch carving knife.

Was the older man just trying to keep it real?

I think the cameras on the buses would be useful in cases in which the perp gets away after committing some kind of crime.

Looks like the poor guy bled to death from a severed femoral artery. This would indicate that either the perp knew what he was doing or had inadvertently killed someone when he had meant to only injure...
