It's "the first in a series of shows designed to promote critical and creative dialogues about fashion. The exhibition presents some forty costumes and accessories dating from the eighteenth century to the present." Visitors are then encouraged to share their reactions online or from a "blogbar" of computer terminals in the exhibition galleries. THEATER: Martin Denton calls David Henry Hwang’s Yellowface “startling, exquisite, and ultimately profound.” The first act concerns the 1990 scandal surrounding the transfer of the hit London musical Miss Saigon to Broadway. Hwang, who won a Tony for M. Butterfly, led protests against the production because one of the lead actors, Jonathan Pryce, was cast as a French-Vietnamese character. Yellow Face’s second act focuses on Hwang’s relationship with his father, the first Asian American to be granted a federal bank charter, and the false charges of espionage leveled against nuclear scientist Wen Ho Lee. According to Denton, Hwang and director Leigh Silverman keep “the play from ever feeling polemical and indeed the entertainment quotient is exceedingly high.” – John Del Signore

When I started reading this, I only looked at the picture out of the corner of my eye, and I swear to god it looked like a teetering pile of dog shit. I had to look at it full on because I couldn't figure out what that had to do with the blurbs.

I can't stop laughing.
