THEATER: The Puppetmaster of Lodz is set in 1950, but concentration camp escapee Samuel Finkelbaum refuses to believe the war is over and doesn’t dare venture out of his Berlin apartment. Fortunately, he has companionship in the puppets he makes out of old newspapers and found objects. According to the Times, actor Robert Zukerman is “impeccable” as Finkelbaum, the emotionally scarred master puppeteer. When an old friend from the camp appears to convince him of the truth, Finkelbaum is forced to choose between his fantasy puppet world and a real world he can’t keep on string. – John Del Signore

8pm // ArcLight Theater [152 W 71st St] // Tickets cost $20
