Tasty Holiday Wrappings: A Wrapup of Food/Wine Gift Guides
In case you haven't noticed, 'tis the season for giving and all that jazz. You've got a friend/relative/other loved one who can't get enough of the epicurean lifestyle, and you're looking for the perfect gift. Never fear -- 'tis also the season of gift guides, which will steer you to gifts that will guarantee a smile. First, our own five gifts for the foodie under $50, all available online, including a beautiful olive wood mortar and pestle from Sur La Table and a crock of Stilton from Murray's.
Bon Appetit kicks off a week of gift guides with ideas for the "show-off chef." Who else would appreciate Dean & DeLuca's white alba truffles (although they may break the bank at a cost of $490-$820 a pop).
Our favorites from the Food Section's holiday gift list are Au Pied de Cochon: The Album, Montreal chef Martin Picard's cookbook and DVD (we missed out on a weekend sojourn there and have been fantasizing about the foie gras poutine ever since) and the LEGO corkscrew and bottle opener, for the wine lover who never really quite grew up. For more oenophile gift ideas, the Epi-log gives us the year's best new wine books, a "safe" alternative to buying wine that might not meet those high wine geek standards.
Serious Eats has the mother load of gift guides, so you're bound to find something to appeal to even the fussiest foodie. Get sweets for the one with the sweet tooth, kitchen essentials for the new cook or a little something cheesy for the cheese lover.
We've bought cookbooks for many people on our gift list this year, and also brought them back some olive oil from a recent trip to Italy. Any food gift ideas on your radar?

Which one is the link to buy those smiley face cookies?
Another great site-www.LocalLabels.com-sells gifts and treats made only in New York's five boroughs.
I second the request for info on those smiley cookies. I would get them for everyone on my list! I couldn't find them in the links...where do these exist please?!?! =)
I found a link to smiley cookies - they look the same...
Yep, that's them!
