Map of the Day: How Bloomberg Could be President

2007_12_bloommap.jpg

Break out the dry erase board - the Sun looks at Bloomberg's Electoral Calculus by seeing how Mayor Bloomberg could potentially make a play for the White House next year. The Sun created a map (for space purposes, we put Bloomberg's head in the states he doesn't have a chance to win) and explains, "Under the right circumstances, Mayor Bloomberg has the potential to win 312 of the country's 528 electoral votes, well more than the 270 votes needed to win the presidency. A billion-dollar campaign could target the 23 states experts say are in play for him."

The article has quotes and scenarios from various experts, but we think University of Virginia's Center for Politics director Larry Sabato puts it best, "It's not impossible for an independent to win. It is difficult for an independent to win."

There's a website to draft Mike Bloomberg - Unite for Mike.

I don't care how many billions he throws at those states. They will not, WILL NOT, vote for someone with "berg" in their name. It's a sad reality.

C'mon Mayor Bloomberg, the nation needs you!

I wonder how viable he'd be as a third candidate if he paired up with the right running mate. Bloomberg/Wesley Clark?

Or, would he be the VP in a Gore/Bloomberg ticket?

I know...no chance.

Here is another site where you can find information about a possible Bloomberg run for President.

I don't know if this will let me post a clickable link, but I will try.
