What do you get for the person who has everything this season? Central Park! The green grass may be covered in white and the autumn leaves have come and gone, but the Conservancy wants you to know it's "lovely in the winter!" So don't go hibernating just yet.

The press release mentions something about giving the gift of a coffee set to take along with you on a stroll, but what really caught our attention was the one-of-a-kind, private tour being offered. Led by Sara Cedar Miller, author of Central Park, An American Masterpiece, "the customized tours offer an insider's view to America's first public park." Miller is also the Conservancy's official photographer and historian, and she will help you design a custom-made tour. Available by van for up to seven people, one-hour tours are $500, and 1-½ hour tours are $750. A signed copy of the book will be included, but only one -- which sort of seems like a Scrooge move. However, proceeds go to support the Conservancy's work to keep the Park "clean and green," so it's sort of like you're giving two gifts!

The Post offers up some more info, reporting that the tours can focus on "landscape design, history, architecture - or little-known secrets." Yes, secrets. Miller mentioned "There are lots of secret inscriptions on some of the most famous sculptures that no one knows are there."
