Subway Beating Video, Fact or Fiction
After a video of a man being harassed and beaten by a group of teens was publicized by The Smoking Gun, some wonder if the tape is real. The main reason why most people suspect it could be staged is because the teen who filmed the incident is an aspiring filmmaker.
Seventeen-year-old Kadejra Holmes told The Smoking Gun she didn't have anything to do with the attack and then took the video off YouTube. Her parents told the Post she was not involved in the fight, "She was on the train when it happened. She didn't know it was going to come to this."
They also confirmed their daughter, who was "scared" and "afraid,"had been arrested on Sept. 3 along with an underage pal for assaulting a 24-year-old woman aboard the J train between the Lorimer Street and Essex Street stops."
The director of the after school program where Holmes studies filmmaking told the Daily News the video was not part of the program and "something she did on her own private time."
She added that she was meeting with Holmes and her mother to make sure they went to the police. The police are also looking to see if there are any complaints on file.
And comments:
- NYC Transit Authority: "If the incident did in fact happen, it is unfortunate as one instance of criminal activity in our system is one too many. As the NYPD will surely tell you, crime in the system is at historically low levels."
- Guardian Angel Curtis Sliwa told WCBS 2: "Whether it's virtual or it's real, it's just a sign of the times. Females go out there; give beat downs to people indiscriminately because they want to prove they're as macho, maniacal as their knuckleheaded peers who are male gang bangers."
- Reverend Al Sharpton , if the video is real: "We denounce this despicable act of violence and stand ready to support the victim in any way as he pursues justice in this vicious incident."

That's going right out the window, I would not have blamed this guy for hitting back. I would have and I would have felt good about it. If you want to act like a "man" you had better be able to take a punch in the face like a man.
Seriously, how annoying do the people in your subway car have to be before you'll move. I think I would have switched cars long before I would have tried to reason with them.
I havent even watched the video and I know its real. I've 10x more senseless violence by teenagers more than adults - I won't even say they attacked him cause his was white - they attacked him because they knew he was going to be an easy victim from a multitude of cues - only one of which was that he was white.
it would be a pretty weird coincidence if this girl had previously been beating people up on the subway, but then, when she wanted to make her movie about beating people up on the subway, decided to fake it. but who know-- kids these days.
Sick.
If he would hit back, then:
A. this tape would never appear on YouTube
or
B. he would be convicted in hate crime...
and Justice for all...
How dumb do you have to be to think if the white guy defended himself it would be charged as a hate crime.
it's real. and i hope the guy doesn't come forward. he's a complete f**king a$$. he looked as if he enjoyed the rowdy attention from the girls. he probably thought life was going to imitate porn and the lezbos were going to start making out with each other, strip in front of him, and then give him a rub down because, until that moment, they never realized the power of white d**k.

So yesterday there were several people wondering why al sharpton was mum....well he said something. does that mean you all are going to stop bashing him, even when the event in question has nothing to do with him?
Unfortunately, not that uncommon. Just try being in the E14th & 1st area when they get out. Or Union Square. Not an isolated day, my office faces this (at about street level) every afternoon. Good natured spirit & hijinx is one thing. Menacing punks are another. Hey 13th Pct., how about you put a few footposts out there to monitor the havoc? Haven't seen a footie in the neighborhood in years, other than transit bureau (except for critical mass or a street fair).

Cops don't care, once they leave school it's not their problem. They only make sure they leave the school orderly and quickly. once they hit the subway system, it's havoc and every man for himself.
They know which are the problem schools.
Actually the safest area is at the school at 3pm, that's where the cops are withing a one block area.
like I said, once they hit the subways or their gang hangout, read McDonalds or Burger King, it's wild wild west. Libraries are another safe place. that's like a building filled with krytonite.
I read about this on Fox News today, except it happened in Maryland on a bus and the victim was a woman (and also white, the other story wasn't considered hate crime either).

It looks real to me. The only thing that would make me question it is the fact the guy didn't just get off at the 2 or 3 opportunities he had. But maybe he fashioned himself a tough guy, and decided he wouldn't walk away.
The other thing I don't get is why everyone is saying this was a beating perpetrated by girls. White doo rag, red hat, and yellow hat all look like guys to me. The only girl I see is the one he's arguing with in the first place. But she doesn't even seem involved in the actual physical altercation.
And finally, yes, I vote for ALL HIGH SCHOOLS to be moved to Roosevelt Island. Black, white, Latino or Asian, I hate riding the damn subway with those little punks. Sequester them until they have learned basic social skills...

A beat down in the subways? Wow that is such a stretch of the imagination. Wake up people. The subways and the entire city is in infested with gangs... especially when school is out.
I know for a fact that this vid is real, I see this shit all the time. Open your eyes. It's hilarious that it's authenticity is being questioned. Probably the rich media who live in safe, white, upscale neighborhoods can't believe their eyes.

I think Al Sharpton is a blowhard of the lowest degree and I am shocked and pleasantly surprised that he put out a statement. If this guy does come forward I hope Sharpton makes good on his promise. Maybe people will start thinking he's not just bottom feeding opportunist then.
