EVENT: This is pretty...interesting. The Sprinkle Brigade "unveils the future of Urban Beautification. Their upcoming show entitled, 'EQUIPPED' at the Riveria Gallery, focuses on the cutting edge in dog poo decoration." The brigade say the "art form" came about after spending "several years of experience wandering the streets of New York, decorating what most people consider to be the enemy." The opening is tonight and the show runs through the 23rd. Leave the pooper scooper at home.
7pm // Riviera Gallery [103 Metropolitan Ave, Williamsburg] // Free
MUSIC: The Mountain Goats have a way of soothing an audience into a sonic stupor so there's no gabbing throughout their show. We like this about them. Come check out the indie-rock-noir of John Darnielle & Co tonight at NYU.
8pm // NYU Kimmel Center [60 Washington Square South, 4th Floor] // $8
PARTY: Zombieville! It's not about zombies at all, really, but a live show "gauged to emphasize the communal aspect" of seeing bands. Three bands will take the stage, and a fourth house band will take the...floor. They also add that "all parties involved are required to show up early for soundcheck and enjoy each other's company as well as the the pie we've provided." Tonight you'll see Action Painters, One Ring Zero, the Isles, and Two Man Gentlemen Band AND Dave Hill will be hosting.
8pm // Southpaw [125 5th Ave, Park Slope] // $8
THEATER: Australian comedienne Caroline Reid has made a big name for herself as Pam Ann, a campy ‘60s-era airline stewardess who bumps her audience up to first-class and dazzles them with her high-altitude, ribald improv. Though beware: “Since Pam Ann is an immaculate Pucci-clad style icon herself, she expects her passengers to dress to impress – leisurewear will see audience members languishing in economy for the whole flight.” The one woman show has been a regular event aboard Elton John’s private jet; she’s also opened for one of Cher’s arena tours. Time Out London calls the experience “superb” while Madonna , another music industry fan, deems it “cruelly funny.” Ends Sunday. – John Del Signore

what's this obsession with incorporating feces into 'art work'? has creativity been so stymied that we're actually looking for inspiration in our toilets?
