Manhattan Mall Mauling
That report of an EDP near Herald Square this morning? It turns out a man stabbed a woman - in the lobby of the Manhattan Mall!
The Post says the woman was "stabbed in the back, arm and wrists" during the morning rush hour. The lobby was covered in blood, forcing the building to close the West 33rd Street entrance. The victim and attacker were both taken to Bellevue. The victim is described as the stabber's girlfriend, and a witness believes he saw them arguing before the attack. And the only other injury was a minor one to a police officer who responded.
Herald Square is especially busy during the holiday season, and there have been some violent incidents, like the man who randomly stabbed three people in Horace Greeley Park in 2004, a man who stabbed two people at a TGI Friday's in 2005, and the 2002 incidents where a disturbed NJ man drove into pedestrians on two occasions, hitting a total of 26 people.

People have been known to gouge out their own eyes after viewing the Manhattan Mall.
They should've stuffed some Auntie Anne's pretzels into the wounds to staunch the bloodflow.
Men with this type of violent outbursts should be executioned!

If ONLY it were the Manhattan Mall--no, it was the lobby for the offices OVER the mall. Including mine. You know it's going to be a bad day when you begin it standing in line to go up in the glass elevator because your usual route is spattered with blood.
On the bright side, we've clearly got some fucking awesome security people, because the woman's alive, the psycho got caught, and the lobby was clear (just) in time for lunch.

it was a Euromutt who had just heard on Bloomberg Radio that the Dow went down another 100 points. When his Anglo girlfriend dismissed him with "whatever, buy me that Gucci bag" he took the Janitor's pocket watch and gave her a good one-two in the eyeball.
i meant to say swiss army knife, but i guess a pocket watch would work at the right angle.
