Three Way Gone Bad in Brooklyn Love Triangle Murder

2007_11_polin.jpgIf you were going to read about the fatal stabbing of a 30-year-old Brooklyn man in, say, the NY Times, you'd only learn that the suspect was a woman with a history of mental disturbances. But if you read about the killing of Aleksey Kats in the NY Post and Daily News, then you'd know that Kats' wife Elina and the suspect, Anastasiya Andreyeva, were lovers and that the three had been engaged in an "ongoing" threesome.

The Post spins the story this way: Andreyeva, who is married, had dinner with the Katses at their East 15th Street apartment on Sunday night. She and Elina Kats were having an affair and, at some point, her jealousy of Aleksey Kats led her to slash his throat early Monday morning. Elina Kats was sleeping in another room but awoke to see "Andreyeva leaving the apartment barefoot and covered in blood."

The Daily News says that Andreyeva stabbed Aleksey Kats - in front of his wife - with a kitchen knife. Apparently they had met for another rendez-vous on Sunday, but "They were not engaged in sex at the time of the killing." Elina Kats supposedly "reluctantly explained the affair" to detectives when Andreyeva was taken to the hospital.

The Katses' neighbors were stunned and said the couple, who have a 2-year-old daughter, was nice and worked hard. Andreyeva's landlady Rosemarie Idarola was also disbelieving that her tenant, a student at Fordham, could be capable of murder. Idarola told Newsday that when she asked Andreyeva and her husband to donate hair for Locks of Love, they were happy to do so: "She's a wonderful girl. I wouldn't rent to her if she wasn't."

What good is an article on a lesbian love triangle without pictures...

Leave it to The Post. That newspaper is such a lurid piece of trash. It's unbelievable.

you know i knew the media was going to do this. yesterday i looked up the names of these people on myspace (after the incident had just been reported as a plain old house guest gone bad) and found that "Anastasiya Andreyeva" had listed her sexual orientation as Bi. The staffers at the NY Post, disappointed that they had no liberal fodder or Spears upskirt shots to report, probably Myspaced Andreyeva as well, saw the Bi reference and got their tabloid cliche juices flowing.

3-way gone bad? who didn't see that coming? *yawn*

This has all the elements for a good Law & Order episode. Wait. The writers are still on strike, so nix that.

LOL!
OMG!
ROTFL!

From reading all the articles, it could be very well true that there was a threesome, and the Times jsut didn't want to report that aspect of it.

I agree the Post can get out of hand, but if it's true, is there really anything wrong with that?

@Toby von Meistersinger

The crime writes itself who needs writers.

Ah those crazy Russians and their loving ways.

Those Krazy Kats!

BTW, when was the last time you heard of a threesome gone good?
