The city should build something useful like basketball courts for a basketball camp associated with the new madison square garden and the knicks. Also a college for hip hop history and research perhaps folded into the cuny system would be nice. What this city really needs is more culture.

It's architecture as infotainment. Archifotainment...

Well developers only care about making money and not the community or improving the city (see Ratner, Bruce) and if anything positive happens it is purely by accident. Add bad uninspired architecture from hacks and you get rubbish.

Fake future designs completely devoid of human concern.

architects are the lacky of the wealthy...part of the problem...not the solution

Forget about architecture! We just need a place to play ball, develope new ryhmes, and real urban fashion. Culture, baby. That's what I'm talking about.

chicago has an equally as massive project going on in an equally as dense part of our city. It, however, has much better architecture.

Well that's not surprising, since Chicago has a lot of good architecture going for it.

That first rendering, the one of the skyline, is a very nice rendering. Not saying it's a good design for the area, but the way they worked in the lighting at sunset is very pretty.

What's the difference between a suspension deck, as proposed by Extell, and a platform, as proposed by the rest?
