Last Night's Action: The Knicks Win!!

2006_11_sknickslogo.jpg

  • Knicks 85 Chicago 78: Seriously, that isn’t a misprint, the Knicks won the game! Afterwards, while the fans stormed the court and the tickertape rained down, Isiah Thomas took a minute to point out that everyone was wrong about him and that this triumph was his vindication.

Ok, it didn’t quite happen that way, but based on some of the reaction you had to assume that the Knicks had actually won a big game, rather than just defeat another two-win NBA club. This was an ugly win, both teams shot under 40% and the Knicks almost blew a big lead, but they prevailed in the end. You can celebrate if you want, but this game was really nothing to get excited about.

  • Islanders 2 Boston 1: The Islanders turned the tables on the Bruins, reversing Friday’s defeat thanks to goals from Andy Hibert and Richard Park. Rick DiPietro had 20 saves and an assist in the win.
  • Devils 3 Tampa Bay 2: Brian Gionta had two goals as the Devils stormed back from a 1-0 deficit with three-straight goals in the second period for the win.

Yikes, I really need to stop doing that...

You should mention the Bulls are 2-9 now (2-8 before the loss), meaning that there was a good chance that the Knicks would have won anyway.

The Bulls weren't doing so hot either...so. Take a look, their record is 2-9 now.

    Isiah Thomas got lucky.
