Thanksgiving officially marks the start of the holiday movie season, and this weekend, one film seems poised to make a run for the box office crown. Enchanted, the Disney film that mixes animation and live-action to spoof its classic fairy tales, received some pretty stellar reviews.

It's 92% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes and most reviews are calling this the star-making performance of Amy Adams, who was nominated for a supporting actress Oscar for Junebug (and she's also pretty great in her brief role in Catch Me If You Can and even the horrible Debra Messing film The Wedding Date).

Roger Ebert called it, "A heart-winning musical comedy that skips lightly and sprightly from the lily pads of hope to the manhole covers of actuality, if you see what I mean. I'm not sure I do." And the NY Times' Manohla Dargis enjoyed it and gave particular praise to "a rousing, complexly choreographed song and dance in Central Park with what looks like the entire Broadway dance corps." It is total escapist fun.

When we saw the trailer for Enchanted in an Upper West Side theater, we heard more than one murmur from adults that they wanted to see it. For one, who doesn't love the idea of a fairy-tale world prince slaying a city bus?
