Taxi Driver Killed in Apparent UES Road Rage Incident

2007_11_taxihr.jpgA taxi driver was fatally run over by another driver at Madison and East 65th Street shortly after midnight. Police believe that the taxi got into an accident with a black Nissan Altima, and then two drivers got into an argument. After the taxi driver got out of the cab, the Nissan's driver hit him.

The Nissan's driver and passenger, a man and a woman, fled the scene, and witnesses say the taxi driver was pinned under the Nissan. One said the taxi driver "was completely under the car. He didn't move at all." A hydraulic lift was needed to lift the Nissan and remove the taxi driver, who was pronounced dead at New York Presbyterian.

The police are looking for the pair, who were seen running west towards Central Park. The car was not reported stolen, which means the police will probably be able to figure out who was driving it, but they are still seeking any information from the public. Call Crimestoppers 800-577-TIPS.

Let's see - was it a Nissan MAXIMA....?

um - they left their car on top of the person they killed with it? That's the good shit right there.

Oh, it was an ALTIMA - so it's really a tossup at this point....

i'm thinking it's either a white or asian crime here. nissan and upper east side. Any takers?

Heh police officer, look at either end of the vehicle. There is a license plate there. Record the number and go to your records and see who owns the car. Get their address and go to their place of residence and arrest them.

Am I going too fast for you?

Where is Kojak when you need him?

Yes, they do not allow out-of-towners and the B&T crowd to drive through the UES....

What kind of individuals would flee into the night through the woods...

road rage involving a death on the UES??

i have a tip for them: the suspect is probably a cop.

^^^Just about to bring that up zodak ^^^

Seems that the NYPD has quietly swept that recent case of Killer Cop Road Rage under the rug. Another incident where the NYPD neither deserves, nor has earned, any CPR.

Elude the police for 24 hours, pretend you weren't drunk. Makes sense while you are drunk.

does anyone value human life anymore?

None of the witnesses stopped these two people from running off?

I hope they throw the book at the couple. This story makes me sick.

A black Nissan, you say?
hmmmmmm......
Now who buys Nissans? more specifically Nissan Altimas.

"i'm thinking it's either a white or asian crime here. nissan and upper east side. Any takers?"

"As family and friends consoled Mohamed's wife inside her Brooklyn home, police tracked the car's owner to a high-rise apartment building in Harlem. There, Marvin Loyola said his cousin was the last person to drive the vehicle.

Loyola told Eyewitness News that he hasn't seen his cousin and knows nothing of the incident."

What is that, a korean or vietnamese name?

/sarcasm off
