Mmm...Helping Out Central Park By Eating Chocolate

2007_11_mmliberty.jpg

Green M&Ms have held this mythic place in many people's candy-eating consciences, whether due to fables, Van Halen's concert riders or advertising. And now green M&M's will be associated with a very real place in New York - Central Park.

Tomorrow, M&M's World Store in Times Square will start selling a special new color, Central Park Green, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Central Park Conservancy. These M&M's have a mottled green appearance to evoke leaves.

The M&M's World Store has a big M&M's Ms. Liberty display - plus Ms. Liberty dispensers for sale. The store's 2006 opening attracted a many people looking for jobs. And in 2005, the M&M's balloon in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade hit a street lamp, which hit two sisters, who were okay and even requested that the balloon be there the following year (it was).

jeez like the people who live around Central Park dont have it good enough already...hows about a collecting some money for the ramshackle parks in other nyc area or better yet start a fund for a 100 acre park in Greenpoint where the current oil depots are...a boy can dream

If only other city parks were so well connected.oo

They kinda look like carriage-horse turds. Just sayin'.

They should be grass-flavored as well.

That looks more like Washington Square Park grass to me.

The Statue of Liberty looks like Oscar the Grouch in drag. Love the money shot of the gerbil pellet-green candies spewing out of the base.
