Three Signs It's Officially Holiday Time

2007_11_rocktree2.jpg

1) Features about the Radio City Music Hall Rockettes, in anticipation of this year's Radio City Christmas Spectacular. The NY Times looks how performances from the 1930s and 1940s inspired this year's show while Newsday notes on the technology being used. Both focus on the amazing synchronized dancing.

2) Starbucks has decorated its stores with Christmas decorations and has started to use Christmas/holiday themed cups. Cajun Boy in the City also counts Josh Grobin and Peanuts holiday CDs AND mini Christmas trees on display tables.

3) The Rockefeller Center Christmas tree has arrived at its perch. The 84-foot tall Norway spruce comes from Joseph and Judy Rivnyak of Shelton, Connecticut. The tree will spend the next few weeks being decked with lights and other niceties, and the tree will officially be lit on November 28.

Hey, everyone. I work in 50 Rockefeller Plaza (right next to 30 Rock, where the tree is going up).

I'm going to be photoblogging the setup of this year's tree, all the way through to the lighting ceremony, on my blog: I Should Be Sleeping.

Come on by & check it out!

Anyone clearing more than 500,000/year after taxes (and there are a lot of you out there), should give half their money away for Christmas. It doesn't matter to who or where, just do it. That would be a reason to really celebrate this Christmas. Com'on! Show some holiday spirit!

I stood outside work in Rock Center today while a friend had a cigarette and hung out on the sidewalk while a tour bus full of happy tourists blatantly stared at us. Maybe they don't have cigarettes or bitter office workers where they come from?

one way to get rid of congestion is to move that stupid tree to the outer boros
