200711woxyist.jpgLISTEN UP: Last month we set up shop at White Rabbit, which was transformed into Gothamist House, with WOXY for 4 days of shows. Now WOXY has put together "Best of" podcasts from each of those days, and the first one is up -- so give a listen!

ART: First Friday's are so over, tonight come to Williamsburg for Every 2nd Friday. Pick up a copy of "the only comprehensive guide to North Brooklyn art. RAW: Williamsburg Art Spaces 2008 is 40 must-read pages of the best galleries in the 'Burg...the free guide will be available at all of our Williamsburg galleries, and in various locations throughout Chelsea, LES and Soho." Get your sat Oulu (at 174 North 4th St, between Bedford and Driggs) and enjoy drink specials before heading out to the galleries. In addition, Taco Chulo will give each participant TWO strawberry mint caipirinhas!

Friday // 7 to 9pm // Details here

THEATER: Performa ’07, the massive four week biennial of new performance by international artists, continues tonight with a plethora of panels and performances all over town. (See schedule.) If you’re around the Upper East Side tonight, the event the Whitney seems like a fun (and free!) bet: wacky L.A. performance art band My Barbarian is presenting “a nautical musical spectacle.” Dubbed Voyage of the White Widow, the piece is set “in a European Golden Age confounded by globalism and environmental disaster.” – John Del Signore

Friday // 7pm // The Whitney Museum of American Art [945 Madison Ave] // FREE

COMEDY: Get your laugh on, and on, and on, and on...at the longest sketch comedy show EVER tonight. Seriously, it's 24 hours of funny with live performances, videos and way too many details to list here. Check out the site for more info.

Friday to Saturday // 10pm to 10pm // UCB Theatre [307 W 26th St] // $20

200711wkathy.jpgMUSIC: Andrew W.K. (pictured with Kathy Griffin) will be putting down the motivational speaking mic and getting back to his musical roots tonight. W.K. will be playing a solo keyboard show at Cake Shop, with the following lineup: Sightings, Metalux and Vizusa. Save up some energy for Saturday night's return of Mr. Brownstone though!

Friday // 8pm // Cake Shop [152 Ludlow St] // $7

ARCHITECTURE: What do the Brooklyn Bridge, the Statue of LIberty, the AMNH, Grand Central and the Times Building all have in common? Rosendale cement! The City Reliquary's current exhibit highlights this "Natural Beginning for the Landmarks of New York City." You'll see vintage cement bags, an antique dynamite box used to mine the cement and photographs of the aforementioned structures upon their completion. After a lecture by a real-deal Rosendale Natural Cement Historian, there will be a guided bike tour of the various buildings.

Saturday // 12 to 6pm // The City Reliquary [370 Metropolitan Ave, Williamsburg] // Free

EVENT: Scrubs, the show that introduced us all to Zach Braff, is getting its plug pulled soon (who knew this show was still on?). To commemorate the last season, Braff and some fellow Scrubs folk will be talking at the Paley Center for Media (which we all know as the Museum of Television and Radio). Expect a Q&A and we guess some laughs, as this is also part of the New York Comedy Festival.

Saturday // 3:30pm // The Paley Center for Media [25 W 52nd St] // $25

THEATER: Imaginative designer and puppeteer Tom Lee has created visually stunning exhibition of the Japanese tradition of “wheeled puppet theater.” The show is called Ko’olau and uses shadow puppetry, animation, live video and bamboo flute music to tell the true story of an outcast Hawaiian cowboy afflicted with leprosy in the 1890s. “Rather than face exile alone, Ko’olau escapes with his wife and son to a remote valley on the island of Kaua’i, where he refuses to be taken alive and battles colonial government troops sent to find them.” – John Del Signore

Saturday // 8pm // The Chocolate Factory [5-49 49th Ave, Long Island City] // Tickets cost $15

MOVIE: Save Sunday for the Reverend. Reverend Billy, that is! His new movie, What Would Jesus Buy?, is out and you can catch a free screening of the doc this weekend. Get there early, and gear up for a live performance by the Rev and his Stop Shopping Choir. They blew us away at Gothamist House a few weeks ago!

Sunday // 2pm // Anthology Film Archive [32 2nd Ave] // Free, RSVP here

i'll be sure to wear my busted teeshirt and post the event on vimeo.com so you guys can report on it later!

Scrubs jumped the shark at least a year ago.
Refreshingly irreverent and more than a but funny in its first few season, now tired and repetitive.
Move on, Zach.

Sightings are headlining the Cake Shop show, NOT Andrew WK. It's their record release party. Like, what happened to that reality TV show of his? right...

Kathy Griffin's got one fucked up face.

I thought Kathy Griffin was on her honeymoon with Steve Wozniak.
