SCIENCE: Following up their taxidermy event last Friday, the Secret Science Club is back at Union Hall for their regular monthly science extravaganza. This time around they're exploring the world of...something we don't totally understand, with chemist Ronald Breslow -- who has created over 1,000 new chemical compounds! He'll be lecturing on "SAHA," a recently approved cancer-fighting drug. This month's specialty cocktail: the Bunsen burner!
7:30pm // Union Hall [702 Union St, Brooklyn] // Free
THEATER: Bad Jazz is a “gleefully raunchy satire” about a company of desperate actors falling to pieces under the boot of a megalomaniacal director. Somehow the lines between reality and performance begin to blur for the bewildered thespians as their production staggers toward completion. The poster for the play, which has yet to open officially, advertises “sex, drugs & bad jazz”, but since there doesn’t seem to be any actual jazz in the show, we’re left wondering about the promise of sex and drugs as well. Still, it’s fun to laugh at actors. – John Del Signore
8pm // Ohio Theater [66 Wooster St] // Tickets cost $25.

Why isn't there a mention here of Pylon playing a sold out date at Mercury Lounge (and playing tomorrow at the Music Hall of Williamsburg tomorrow) tonight? Pylon are a far more important band than Grizzly Bear. Dare I link their wikipedia page here?
