Clue in Jam Master Jay Case

200711jmj.jpgLast week marked the five year anniversary of the murder of Jam Master Jay, who was shot and killed at his studio in Queens the night before Halloween 2002. The slaying was one of many that went unspoken about by witnesses, all of whom follow the "no snitching" rule. However, The Daily News has just talked to someone who is breaking this absurd code of silence.

Randy Allen, the iconic turntablist's longtime business partner, told the Daily News the inked-up killer embraced the hip-hop pioneer before pulling out a gun and putting a bullet in his head.

"Jay looked up at the guy to say what's up," Allen, 41, said. "And the next thing you know, a shot goes off."

This account is a first since the murder, and Allen goes on to give details from the night. Jay was apparently taking a break and playing video games when the (two) gunmen came in, Allen's sister was one of the few in the studio and ordered to the floor at gunpoint, and most important to solving the crime: the man who shot Jay had a large tattoo on his neck.

The man who put a gun to Allen's sister's head was Ronald (Tinard) Washington, who to date has been the only suspect named in the case. Also noted in the article is that Allen himself "was at one time accused of ordering the deejay's death to collect on an insurance policy," though he has been cooperating with investigators in this case. Interesting that the only person talking was once accused of wanting to kill Jam Master Jay?

Will you please stop with the "snitching" references? As if "no snitching" was a rule only urban men follow, fucking Christ.

A tattoo on his neck? Oh, that should solve the case quick. That narrows it down to 1,000,000 or so people in NYC.

"Urban men"? By that do you mean black men? And considering that Jay, Biggie, and Tupac's murders are all unsolved gives support to the fact that 'no snitchin' is a guideline practiced by many in the rap world.

It's been a while since the last hippity hopping fool has been capped. This killer needs to come out of hiding and do the world a favor by keepings its reals one mo times.

The people that make up urban communities are not all black, so no, I don't mean black men; and considering that (1) the murders of Tupac Shakur and Biggie involved the LAPD more so than any member of the Hip-Hop community {minus Suge Knight} and (2) the witnesses who refuse to talk are not all members of the Hip-Hop community {they were gunned down in public on LA streets full of all sorts of people} I'd assert that neither of those murders supports that "fact." 'Correlation does not equal causation,' ever heard that phrase?

All I know is that the biggest "no snitching" advocates use a different euphamism...I believe it's called "The Blue Wall of Silence".

(spell check alert: euphemism)

Firemen also follow the No Snitch rule as do stockbrokers.

Hip Hop World: - "Don't Snitch!"
NYPD : - The Blue Wall of Silence
Military: - Don't ask, Don't tell.
The Mobb: - Don't be a rat!
Prisoners: - Don't be a stool penguin.
Gays: - Keep it in the closet.
Presidents: - Don't tell the public.
White people: - Only hire "our" kind.
White people: - EOE (They hide behind that)
Gothamist: - Members only, fuck all guests!

As you can see, way before hip hop there have been forms of the don't snitch rule. So why is the world trying to blame this all on hip hop youth. Yes, don't snitch is stupid but before that there have always been other forms.
