Reader Brad emailed us asking, "Any Idea why Park Ave South was covered in light last night from around 11pm till 1am or so? There were guys shinning bright lights uptown from between 21st and 22nd and another smaller light further up in the 30’s shinning downtown."
Our guess is a movie or TV show. Anyone know which one it was?

It was SATC at the Giraffe hotel, I think.
Probably Gossip Girl.
That's 22nd street. The Giraffe is on 26th.
Slow "news" day in Gotham, I guess.
A little slow, maybe - and I really liked how the klieg lights illuminate the buildings. As well as felt sorry for residents trying to sleep.
I'm the one that sent in the pic and question and yes I felt bad for the people that live on that street as well. It was blindingly bright walking down the street and the buildings looked to be covered in even more light. A friend here at work confirmed that it was for Sex in the City. It at least offered some cool pics last night.
shinning
Who said that, Gothamist reader Brad or Groundskeeper Willie?
LoL at DCfist. Nice one from fellow DC guy.
They're filming something on the top floor suite of the Giraffe Hotel. It's an exterior shoot on the balcony, so my guess is they have to backlight and light the exteriors of the buildings in the background.
