READING: We originally thought this was going down yesterday, but you still have a chance to see it! Not in a million years would we have thought we'd be listing a reading by former Guns n' Roses guitarist, Slash. But it turns out old rockers love to dish on their sordid lives, and this mysterious musician is no different. Tonight he'll read from his book, called Slash, which apparently "redefines sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll."

EVENT: Benjamin Kunkel, founder of Literary journal n+1, will moderate a discussion with contributers to the upcoming (sixth) issue tonight. Meghan Falvey, Alex Gourevitch, Mark Greif, and Chad Harbach will all be on hand to talk about The Politics Of Fear.

BENEFIT: What do Joan Jett, Le Tigre's Johanna Fatemann and Princess Superstar all have in common? Besides being women that rock, they're all going to be on hand tonight for the Farm Sanctuary Halloween Benefit. What's sweeter than that? There will be an organic cocktail open bar from 8 to 9:30pm along with vegan treats. Dress in your Halloween best, there will be a costume contest as well.
