2007_10_karl.gifFILM: Karl Lagerfeld's personal style sort of freaks us out (see photo), so this may be more frightening than the above. Tonight get a 90-minute glimpse at the designer through a documentary (titled Lagerfeld Confidential) that captures two years of his (undoubtedly fast paced) life. Expect appearances from Nicole Kidman and a whole lot of eccentrics.

6:30, 8:30, 10:10pm // Film Forum [209 West Houston St] // $10.75

READING: Future President of the United States of America, Stephen Colbert, will be reading from his book I am America (and So Can You!) this evening at Barnes & Noble. We can't think of one good reason not to attend, or one good reason not to vote for him in '08.

7pm // Barnes & Noble [33 E 17th St] // Free

THEATER: The Brothers Size was a sold-out hit at the Under the Radar festival last January, it’s now back at the Public Theater for a run through December. The lively show is the fruit of a collaboration between a Yale Drama student named Tarell Alvin McCraney and the esteemed Foundry Theatre. “Playing fast and loose with West African myths, this piece unfolds the modern-day story of the Size brothers from San Pere, Lousiana – Ogun Size, auto mechanic and Spirit of Iron; Oshoosi Size, recent parolee and Spirit of the Wanderer – and an outsider who threatens to transform the very ground on which they’ve reunited. The Brothers Size brings contemporary rhythms together with traditions of ceremonial presentation to tell a story that transcends culture and time.” The Times says, “listen closely, and you might hear that thrilling sound that is one of the main reasons we go to the theater, that beautiful music of a new voice.”– John Del Signore

8pm // The Public Theater [425 Lafayette St] // Tickets cost $50
