One Life to Allegedly Attack Three People in Midtown

2007_10_shmm.jpgEarly yesterday morning in Hell's Kitchen, soap opera actor Nathaniel Martson allegedly attacked three people. The Daily News reports that Marston, who plays Dr. Michael McBain on One Life to Live, swung a metal crate at his victims, which broke one of the men's legs. One of the victims, Salvatore Cabibo who didn't even know the actor, said Marston had been arguing with a cab driver and then charged at him, shouting, "I'm going to get you!"

Police believe Marston was under the influence of drugs during the attack. The News took a photograph of Martson after he was arrested and taken to Bellevue (pictured), contrasting it with a photograph of Marston in a hospital bed on the show. Doctors "labeled [him] an emotionally disturbed person" and released him later in the day, and then the News went to check up on him at his home. Marston told the paper, "I don't want to talk to you, and please don't ever come to my home."

Marston was charged with assault, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a weapon, and resisting arrest. On his official website's press area, Marston put up a 2001 Soap Opera Weekly article about his bad boy rap after he was arrested for punching an ATM in 1999, explaining, "I have this - I'm beginning to control it - but it's called lack of impulse control." Marston was initially charged with criminal mischief but then charges were dropped and said in another interview that that he paid for the machine, "which was broken to begin with." He also said that the tabloid press is "one part of the business that could make me run away."

Whatever Marston did, I think he's got a pretty legit right to be totally pissed at whoever was at his bedside snapping pictures of him while he was unconscious or sedated and selling them to the News. I don't see any photo credit, so I'm assuming the photographer was someone who works at the hospital.

was this saturday night/sunday morning?

i think i saw this go down as my cab home was passing by... so weird.

And he was released from custody in less than a day? Ridiculous! He should be held for a detailed psychiatric evaluation.

metal crates happen to be my weapon of choice, too! weird.

What he was'nt chained to a bench? He was'nt beaten to a pulp by the NYPD then arrested and taken to mid-town south? something is just not right with this one, he gets arrested and taken to the looney bin and released the next day WTF ?

Man, first he loses his illegally adopted son in court, then his wife skips town with the baby, and now this. Poor guy can't catch a break.

I agree with you, there is no photo credit to the shot. I was at the hospital when he was brought in. police had him under complete supervision except the once or twice they were asked to step outside of the curtain. I also noticed the hospital staff was all abuzz when he came into the ER and at one point an alert police officer shut the curtain when a bunch of doctors or interns stopped and discussed the reason he was there. i saw them smiling and talking. its unfortunate that the hospital staff can't keep professional when the situation calls for it. just look at the George Clooney fiasco.

looks like the photo is from the Daily News...

Looks like someone sold them the picture and they put the headline on.
