THEATER: – Mercy Thieves, a dark comedy for action movie fans, has washed up downtown following a hit run in Australia five years ago. Described as “part Shakespearian tragedy and part gangster flick,” the play concerns one night in the lives of Mike and DJ, two goons racing around Australia in pursuit of the mysterious and elusive Harry. Along the way the plot bounces back and forth in time to expose a growing body count and a twisted tale of betrayal. Lois Spangler calls the show “truly magical… far more focused than a Tarantino flick, far less spastic, and has a much more meaningful ending.” – John Del Signore
8pm // The Kraine Theater [85 E 4th St] // Tickets cost $18.
