Another noose was found Thursday afternoon - and this time, it was outside the Church Street Post Office. Um, WTF is going on?
The noose was found on a lamppost, and while it was visible at street level, postal employees working on the second floor noticed it. Building management took it down. According to Newsday, there is scaffolding outside the building at 90 Church Street that "leads to the light pole, but the scaffolding is covered with barbed wire."
The building is shared by the USPS, the city's Housing Authority, state agencies and other tenants. The NYPD, FBI and Justice Department are investigating. USPS spokesman Al Weissman said no other threats were known, "At this point, there was no target that was evident or any motive."
This comes as police are investigating a noose found outside a Columbia professor's door - and as there have been other noose incidents nearby, in New London, at the Coast Guard Academy, and in Hempstead at a police department locker room.

the noose is loose!
Tipping point.
Copy cat nooses.
some will say the victim put it up. show me one victim who can tie a nice tight hangman's noose like that? any proof the victim went on KKK sites to learn said knot?
Um, WTF is going on?
Morons always travel in (copycat) packs.
Noose is the new swastika.
As a knotsmith I am upset that so many people are offended by the noose; certainly one of the more beautiful knots.
THE SOUTH RISES AGAIN!
ROBERT E. LEE JR. FOR PRESIDENT!
i used to work across the street from there at Moody's Investment services b4 they moved to 8 world trade center...
what is that picture of? that's not the church street post office.
I found ten nooses today. Sure, they were used to secure things to trucks but still. TEN NOOSES!!!! call the police.
how many of these are statements of racial hate and how many are just nooses? seriously, I see a lot of nooses on the street and on lamp posts all the time. It's usually remnants of old construction.
kopy klans
copy cats who probably don't even know why they are doing this. kids, most likely, needing to feel like they're making a statement, albeit negative, and then boasting when it hits news outlets such as this. shame everyone's so dumb.
#8 thanks for that post
we are all very VERY interested
guess you guys are right, a hangman's noose is used a lot to tie thing down. It's often used by construction workers.
well, there you have it.
The noose is this years shark attack.
is like a noose truck just droping thsi things everywhere! Dumb idiots are kind of funny...Like making these statments will actually generate something...at all... There you have: if you give shit you give shit! what a waste of time these noose droppers are.
Its probably some dipshit hipster art asshole from Korea or Poland.
That area probably has more cameras than the pentagon. They'll easily get caught.

This post office was renovated after nine eleven.
they are open late and are quite efficient. I've only had one problem with them.
There's always a postal cop inside and out back at the loading area.
maybe they are just nooses? cmon man. not everything is racist.
Does this mean that hangman is now considered a racist game?
Damn! And Randy Marsh already ruined 'Wheel of Fortune'
All these nooses around - might as well use 'em...
A noose is a terrible thing to waste
LOL, well it's a horrible thing to do...unless your black and are tryinhg to get a law passed that hanging a noose is a hate crime. I am not racist in any way but I am not dum. It's a sick thing to do to a person but again....this is all for show. A racists normal MO for this is to tell some one to shut up in someone way or get out of town to a specifect person....these are going up in random places and around random people just to catch the public eye. This is sooo fake it is pathetic. This was done by supporters of the the Jena6.....who actually commited a hate crime. It's a two way street, I live in the inner city and get called honky, cracker, or white boy at least 4 times a week.....do you hear me cring about it?
