PERFORMANCE ART: Remember how in 2005, during a visit by England’s cricket team to Pakistan, a bombing at a Karachi KFC killed 5 and wounded 15? Bombings come and go so quickly here it’s become a bit of a blur. Performance artist Julia Mandle remembers, and has created an installation called Come & Have a Chicky Meal, Cuz You're Gonna Love This Deal; the title is taken from a sign found in the rubble. The work fuses ensemble performance, visual art, embroidered costumes and architecture to ask, “What is the ‘deal’ that American democracy offers the world today?” [Through Saturday, when the performance is at 5pm.] – John Del Signore

PARTY: Moby has invited his pals Juan McLean, Stretch Armstrong and DFA artist Alex Frankel to help him deejay tonight at the inaugural “Degenerates” party. The club night is slated to become a regular NYC residency for Moby, who said: "When I was growing up in Manhattan in the early 80's you could go dancing anywhere: Area, Fallout Shelter, Danceteria, etc. Now in 2007 your options for a degenerate night out dancing in Manhattan are more limited. With this in mind, I wanted to start a fun and dirty and eclectic night of dance music, called 'Degenerates'. Hopefully on the night people will somehow be inspired by the name."
