Elderly Woman Dies After Being Hit by Motorcycle

2007_10_motoacc.jpgA 72-year-old woman crossing West 139th between 5th and Lenox Avenues was fatally hit by a motorcycle last night around 8:15PM. Carrie Moulton, described as a retired Board of Education administrator, was thrown to the ground. Her skull was cracked and she died at Harlem Hospital.

The police say the motorcyclist may have driven through a red light. He apparently did not stop after hitting Moulton, but, as WABC 7 reports, "lost control of his bike, falling off and sliding under a parked SUV" while his motorcycle skidded down the street.

The motorcyclist is in critical condition at St. Lule's Hospital. The police are investigating the incident, and may charge him with a crime if he survives.

#3, everyone winds up dead. Better to go out doing something you love than dying a long slow painful death from cancer or some other horrible disease.

    DON'T LIVE LIFE!

You'll still wind up just as dead. You might live longer, but if you spend that life in your little safety bubble and never experience anything, then what's the point? You might as well be dead if that's how you live your life.

No one on their deathbed ever says "man I wish I had had a lot less fun in my life."

That said, running a red light while riding a motorcycle, driving a car, or riding a bicycle is a dick move and he deserves what's coming to him.

I love to ride... I guess it is not for everyone.

There are asshole car drivers too. More than motorcycle riders.

    As for the poor lady.

    Rest in Peace.

actually, there shouldn't be a comma after "incident" because there is no new subject. i do suspect, however, that the hospital should be amended to read "St. Luke's."

    DON'T RIDE MOTORCYCLES!

Or wind up dead -- your choice.

Jen Chung, you neglected to type a comma after "incident" in your last sentence, and you said "is" where you probably meant to say "if." I have provided the corrections below so that you may delete the original entry and replace it with the superior one I've provided below. Or, at least the last sentence!

    * Sigh ... what would Jen Chung do without me?

    Sincerely,

    typodog
