While last week was definitely Long Island City week on Gossip Girl, this week's version of the "exclusive" Upper East Side dropped squarely in Brooklyn Heights. The opening scene, featuring some sort of perverted choir singing Fergie's "Glamorous," was shot on location at Packer Collegiate Institute's 3rd floor chapel. The gang revisited Packer later on at the contrived 'Ivy' reception, which went down in the school's backyard garden. From there, the gang didn't have to travel too far for their extracurriculars. The fantastic field hockey practice/Serena-Blair catfight took place only a few blocks away from the school at the base of the Brooklyn Bridge in Cadman Plaza Park.
It took about 56 minutes into the hour long episode before there was an actual uptown location spotted. The final rainy apology scene was beside the always stunning Bethesda Fountain, right smack in the middle of Central Park.
Also, a note on NYC's private transportation...Someone should tell bad boy Chuck that nobody rides in stretch limousines anymore around New York City unless they're bridge, tunnel or Eurotrash. Especially not ones with Taxi and Limousine Commission license plates. Have someone drive you around in a Black Suburban or Yukon the next time you want to stalk Serena around town. For starters, it'd be a tad less conspicuous.

Packer blows! St. Ann's Rocks!!!!!!!
Can someone explain to me why this show is of particular interest to the NY blogging world? Dozens of TV Shows are filmed in New York.
Well, a lot of it is filmed on-location, which is fun and pretty rare for TV these days. Aside from Law and Order, I can't think of any other show off the top of my head that's does that. Shows like CSI NY and Dirty Sexy Money mostly use sets.
It is actually Cadman Plaza Park, with an "a" not an "e".
Frankly, even though the Brooklyn family supposedly lives in Williamsburg, they continually cut to Dumbo just before the interior apartment shots. Annoys the hell out of me for some reason. I guess they leave out the ride through the Farragut Houses and down Flushing, then up Kent through the Hasidm to the Bedford stop cause you know that Dad was there back in '94 baby!
Anyone who has issue with this post has even more time on their hands then the psycho who wrote it. St. Anne's sucks, Berkley Carroll is for meat head degenerates, and Brooklyn Friends is for thugs whose parents can't pay their way into Berkley Carroll . Packer is the only place to go to private school in Brooklyn.
They are actually filming on the UWS right at this very moment. Between 105th and 109th on Broadway.
What is this shit? Some show? Who the hell cares?
"What is this shit? Some show? Who the hell cares?"
pretty much sums up the whole blogosphere
There is nobody on this show that is redeeming. It's like somebody wrote a story about what they think Paris Hilton's life is like. I think this show will be cancelled midseason as their is no seth cohen or guys fighting in the underground.
I think the scenes showed the exterior of the schoo entrance were shot at the Russian Orthodox Archbishop's residence on East 97th St @ Madison.
best thing about this show is Kristen Bell. They should have never cancelled Veronica Mars.
The best thing about this show is Kristen Bell. They should have never cancelled Veronica Mars!
The School exterior used in the show is actually the Russian Orthodox Church which is located on 93rd and Park, not 97th Street. They also used the 93rd St. entrance to the Apt. Tower on Madison for the shots of the fictitious Rehab Center. I live on this street and when they were filming in the summer there were few onlookers. Now that the show has aired, there are plenty of them.
Kristen Bell is the reason why i watch this show, Veronica Mars rocked!
I go to packer. It was so cool watching gossip girl and seeing my school. I'm there everyday. They only used interior shots, the outside was a different school.
I don't see St. Anne's on Gossip Girl. Packer rocks!
to all those who speak of ST. ANN'S in their posts- learn to spell the name of your competition. pathetic and too wrapped up in your own world...but hey the st. ann's teachers would be glad to help you work on your spelling. they totally understand that you would need it where you come from.
