John Madden said it best on the air, “Osi Umenyiora made the Pro Bowl in one night tonight”. Umenyiora turned in one of the greatest games by a defensive end ever, sacking Donovan McNabb six times officially and just missing out on a few other opportunities. And it wasn’t just Umenyiora, the defense had a dominating night. recording 12 sacks and holding the Eagles to only three points in the 16-3 win. Aaron Ross added some coverage to the secondary, Michael Strahan broke LT’s sack record, Kawika Mitchell had a fumble return for a touchdown and Antonio Pierce was everywhere.
But, not everything went well for the Giants Sunday. The offense was mediocre, moving the ball, but stalling at key points and the kicking game was awful. Lawrence Tynes missed a 34-yard field goal and an extra point. Tynes has been shaky all year, so it would not be a shock if someone else was kicking when the Giants face the Jets next Sunday.
However, those are concerns for later in the week. Right now the Giants are 2-2 with their only losses coming to 4-0 teams. They are still a work in progress, but with an October schedule consisting of the Jets, Falcons, 49rs and the Dolphins, they have a chance thrust themselves into the playoff race.

The Giants were fortunate to catch Philly at a bad time without Westbrook and without a functioning left tackle. But damned if they didn't look good anyway. Time to get a new kicker though.
In an ideal world, every Philadelphia team would lose every game. Still, as one very wise person once told me, "All Philadelphia has going for it is sports."
As a Met fan, the Giants win last nice was a very nice consolation prize.

Imagine my weekend as a fan Rutgers, the Mets, and the Eagles. Born and raised in Philadelphia I've tried to find a happy-medium with my sports teams.
As for the Santa thing- get over it- it was decades ago.
