October is starting off with a continuation of September's trend of quiet weather. Central Park was 2.8 degrees warmer than normal last month. Rainfall at Belvedere Castle was less than half of the normal 4.23 inches. Don't worry, rainfall upstate was closer to average and the reservoir levels are only slightly lower than they typically are at this time of year.
The normal high temperature for this time of year has dipped below 70 degrees. Normal lows are in the mid-50s. Today marks the 12th straight day of above normal temperature. The warm weather streak is expected to continue through next weekend. Today won't get much warmer than it is out right now. Tomorrow and Wednesday will warm up a couple of degrees. A pathetic excuse of a cold front will be arriving tomorrow night. The most it can muster is cloudy skies and maybe a bit of drizzle tomorrow night into Wednesday. Sad.
Skies should begin to clear on Thursday and it will be warm. We may have another day of 80 degrees. Next weekend's weather is looking perfect for looking at fall foliage upstate or standing online at Open House New York sites.

"Mild Start ot October"
I thought this was a Jen Chung post at first!
typeo?
Where the fuck is the cold??! Enough with this shit already.
I was north of Burlington VT yesterday. Everything is still green!! Big disappointment as far as foliage is concerned. Except for the company, maple syrup and pumpkins it would have been a bust!

when typos in the ledes get through, and STAY that way for some time, perhaps it is time for gothamist to admit it failed english.
or can't figure out how to turn on the spellchecker.
seriously, between the bad paste-up jobs, rotten sentence structure and bad spelling on this site, it is often hard to see why it is taken seriously by ANYONE.
i don't see that sh*t on chicagoist, austinist, or most of the others....
time to hire an editor, or go back to high school grammar class.
not just ragging on this poster... jen is actually the worst!

I still don't understand why people say stand "online"! It drives me batty!!! My favorite is when the Duane Reade ladies yell at the top of their lungs, "Next online!" Can somebody explain this to me, as I always thought I stood "in line." And online referred to the internets.
mmlanglie:
"On line" is a NYC thing. Get used to it.
It's one thing to hear slang being used in your local drug store, but to see it in print seems a little unprofessional.
I can get used to it (have already) but I don't have to like it!
How is "on line" slang any more than "in line"?
