EVENT: We're sponsoring, and our publisher is hosting, the NYC Photobloggers event tonight. Come over to the Apple Store to see a dazzling display of digital images and the faces behind the photos: Eliot Shepard, Jay Parkinson (yes, that Jay Parkinson) and a whole lot more will be on hand. There will also be a special presentation by Jen Bekman of 20x200, Hey Hot Shot, and the Jen Bekman Gallery and an after party at Merc Bar.

MUSIC: Last month we took John Vanderslice to the top of the Hotel Chelsea for a performance that you can watch here. This month (tonight) he's playing Bowery Ballroom, we highly recommend this show and you can still get tickets here. Bishop Allen opens the night.
8pm // Bowery Ballroom [6 Delancey St] // $15
THEATER: 13P is a playwriting collective that acts as a corrective to the sometimes fruitless model of new play development. Started four years ago, the group is working their way through full productions of plays by each of the 13 playwrights involved. The current offering is the boldly disorienting Have You Seen Steve Steven?, written by Ann Marie Healy and directed Anne Kauffman, who helmed last year’s OBIE-winner The Thugs. “Lost in a labyrinth of Midwestern McMansions, teenager Kathleen Clarkson senses that something is very wrong with her world but nothing prepares her for the arrival of Hank Mountain. This friendly neighbor and his elusive partner-in-crime, Vera, stop over to bring brownie bars and chat about the property taxes. What her parents don't realize is that they've also come as harbingers of annihilation.” The Playgoer dissents from the Central Arbiter with an insightful review here. - John Del Signore
8pm // 14th Street Y [344 E. 14th St.] // Tickets cost $18.
TRIVIA: We're fans of the rock & roll trivia night at Pianos, and we're not sure that anyone can beat Todd Satterfield as a host of such an event, but Sound Fix started a similar night recently. So come battle it out for free drinks and other, non-liquid, prizes! One day there should be a tournament pitting the Pianos teams and the Sound Fix teams against eachother. UPDATE: This event is actually on Tuesday each week.
8pm // Sound Fix Records [110 Bedford Ave] // Free
I saw the John Vanderslice / Bishop Allen show last night it was really quite good! It took me a few minutes to get into, but the performance just kept getting better and better. The very last song they did was Keep the Dream Alive, and they all came down onto the floor and the audience gathered around in a circle. It could have been hokey but it wasn't, it was bliss.
