Bronx Senior's Parallel Parking Nightmare
When you're 85-years-old and a World War II veteran, dying by way of parallel parking is not the way to go. And luckily, John Tyrrell is no worse for wear after driving his car off a cliff in the Bronx.
WNBC reported that Tyrrell had been parallel parking in the Silver Beach neighborhood. "He said he angled his car too sharply and reversed into grass and plunged 20 to 30 feet over a cliff and into a tree over the Long Island Sound." Firefighters and police responded, chaining Tyrrell's car as others rescued him.
The video is pretty crazy. Tyrrell recalled what was running through his mind when his car dangled a few feet over the water, "I thought I'm not happy about this, but what could I do?"

After a certain age (say 70 y.o.), people should have to take a driving test every year otherwise their license should be revoked.
^Very true. Also, that video was far from crazy.
The best part of the video was how one of the cops whipped out his cellphone cam to take a picture of the car.
Otherwise, far from crazy indeed.
Thank goodness he is okay, but 85 is too old to drive, just as 14 is too young.
