Who walks around with that much cash? The mugger must have seen them come from an ATM or something.

user-pic

should of went to prospect park, but anyway, hmm tan hey so does that mean the dude is either hispanic or light skin black dude? lol

You sorta left out an important detail, which is in the Daily News story:

The suspect was described as black or Hispanic

user-pic

You omitted a key item in the suspect's description. This is from the link you supplied from the Daily News:

"The suspect was described as black or Hispanic, about 5-foot-8, 180 pounds and wearing a tan baseball cap and a tan button-down shirt."

Fixed.

It's called selective editing for the culturally sensitive.

The suspect was described as black or Hispanic...

As if one cannot be both.

user-pic

awesome! cha ching, cash money.
time to get me that Ipod.

I don't blame this man, he has 16 children to feed, and NAIR treatment to purchase for his wife.

user-pic

300 dollars is not that much cash nowadays especially if you go to peter lugers.

user-pic

I hate to see people get mugged, but this is why I never carry cash around.

user-pic

i love these stories, tells the bad guys where
the money is. $400 is not a bad pay day for those without. sure for you yuppies it's chump change.
bring on the crime.

It's sunday, you guys; shouldn't you all be in church, spreading this love around to your fellow man face to face? Or are you only this outspoken about cultural issues when you're anonymous?

user-pic

virgil, you can't shame an anonymous person.

user-pic

Ah man, some of these comments are just shameful.

user-pic

as much as I hope for the best, the mugger will get caught when he uses the celly.
on the flip side, the victims did the right thing to hand over the loot. Worse things has happened.

New Yorkers walk around with tons of cash and/or expensive jewelry, electronics, designer purses, etc. Think of all the rich people, children of rich people, trust fund kiddies, etc. We had a guy in my old job that tried to pass himself off as a regular guy until he left his wallet on the lunchroom table. In the effort to return it its owner someone looked inside and saw the guy was carrying over two thousand in cash. The charade was up went he used his trust fund to buy a $2.7 million condo.

user-pic

I would of kept that wallet, it's not like he's going to miss 2 grand if he's that rich.
to the rich that's considered pennies, not worth crying over if lost. it's probably not even much of a thought to them.
a mere bag of shells.
Why would he take his wallet out in the lunchroom table? wallets are usually found in the men's room when the wallet falls out of the back pocket while doing business. Guns are found that way, too.

user-pic

The return of the Saturday Night Special.
Lead is still cheap.

user-pic

wouldn't a wallet containing two thousand in cash be thick enough to choke a horse?
oh, please tell us how he tried to pass himself off as a "regular guy"?

Wow. I'm NOT saying the guy deserved to get mugged, but I'm just wondering who and for what reason someone carries $300 around in his wallet.

user-pic

To buy drugs with #20.

Virgil is such a funny name...bbwwwaaaaahhhhhhhhhh

user-pic

wow, great that this is news in NYC. i experienced a similar thing (less cash, though) in another city and it wasn't any surprise to the police, much less blogworthy. slow newsday or safe NY?

when it's dark, stay out of any park.

Virgil IS a funny name. That's true. I think it's funny, and now you do too. So we both think it's funny. That's sort of weird. That we both think it's funny.

My name.

Weird.

How else to describe a shit-eating douche bag?
