King of the World, or at Least Columbus Circle

Via the Gothamist Newsmap, we noticed an "Unusual Incident" on 60th Street at Columbus Circle yesterday afternoon. Thanks to reader Ade in New York, we found out what it was: Someone, in Rollerblades no less, had climbed on top of the globe outside the Trump International.
The Post had some more details: The man, 57-year-old Richard Fredette "tossed handfuls of fliers promoting a rock concert" and then ate an orange. Fredette was charged with disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing.
We can't remember how high off the ground the globe is - based on this picture, it seems like you'd need a boost to make it to the sphere.

what was the concert he was promoting?
57 yrs old? he's one of them aging hipsters.
look how skinny his legs are, like twigs. that's a hipster sign if there ever was one.
Excellent photo.
why does everyone always have to be arrested for every little damn thing?
Why didn't this guy just get a ticket? A night in jail, really, for this?
He also looks like he's smoking!
This image looks like a bad t-shirt design from Threadless.
If I was on top of that thing, I'd have a ciggie too. I still say it's a nice photo, despite the guest rants.
"We can't remember how high off the ground the globe is..."
You knew how high it was to begin with?!?!
That's a great scroll-down.
band being promoted: black lips
(interestingly, a special cop showed up with climbing gear who was prepping to go up after this guy when he decided to come down)
(ps i was there)
He deserves style points for the rollerblades. Bravo, dude!
p.s. Thanks for the photo to whoever took it. One must always be prepared for an impromptu photo event!
Is there a definition for "disorderly conduct" or is it a catchall? What does this guy have to do with Larry Craig?
Littering, maybe, but not disorderly conduct.
