GOP Operative's Alibi By Bizarre Nixon Tattoo

2007_09_nixontattoo.jpg 2007_09_stonetattoo.jpg

Just when we thought Roger Stone, the GOP operative accused of leaving a menacing voicemail for Governor Spitzer's father, couldn't be more amusing, he outdoes himself. Stone's assistant sent The Politicker's Azi Paybarah some photographs of Stone, supposedly "taken at The Ink Monkey tattoo shop in Venice Beach, California" where he was "getting a tattoo on his back of Richard Nixon’s face." Really.

Why bring up a bizarre tattoo and photographs? Because Stone says he was being inked with Nixon's mug on the very day he is accused of leaving the vitriolic message from his NYC apartment's phone number. Update: Actually, Stone says that he got the tattoo the day he was being told by reporters he allegedly made the call. Sorry for the confusion - we were mesmerized by the tattoo.

Stone has denied making the call and told NY1 the voice on the message "is definitely not me" and said that caller ID-spoofing is very possible. Stone believes the real caller was Randy Credico, a comedian who has impersonated Stone before.

The Politicker writes, "Stone will be happy to provide evidence, upon request, that he's really the guy in that weird picture on the left [of this picture] and that the tattoo is real." Dude, we want Roger Stone to be party entertainment!

First Stone said he was at a Broadway show (that wasn't even playing on that night).

Then he said somebody spliced audio excerpts of him into a brilliantly perfect recording of him making the alleged call.

Then he said a comedian impersonated him.

Now he says he got a Nixon tattoo??!?

Stone is a loony.

user-pic

Yeah, a loony with ginormous man-tatas...with indented nipples, no less!

He needs to stop doing blow. Moron.

user-pic

i reeaally don't care for his nipples.

Uh ... not to point out the obvious, but the tattoo in the picture on the left, and the tattoo in the picture on the right are not even in the same place on the back.

Left picture = left shoulder

Right picture = center of back

This guy looks as though he took steroids at one time.

Scum.

user-pic

Oh, man. I so hope they do a Law & Order about this one.

user-pic

that tattoo makes it look like he misplaced his arsehole.

user-pic

do you think i could get jen chung to tattoo a picture of me on her left boob?

I think Stone is pulling everybody's leg, at this point. I mean, come on, Nixon? This is his attempted revenge on the media, I say.

user-pic

#4, I think they are in the same place. Both seem centered on the inside edge of the left shoulderblade.

Rather than this bizarre shot, why not just show flight info to prove that he was in California at the time the call was made. Shouldn't be that hard to say "here's my credit card bill with the flight purchase, and here's a printout from the airline website showing that I got frequent flier credit for flying to CA on X date (before the call) and coming back on Y date (after the call)."

You got a tattoo of RICHARD NIXON and you're just remembering it now?

No wonder Bruno fired you. You're lucky he did't whack you.

#4 They are in the same spot. The pic on the right you're seeing a mirror image (note the mirror in the right photo, and not the one being held).

For further, subtle proof, check out the shadow on Nixon's forehead. It appears on opposite sides between the two photos.

I'm aware that the mirror image is what's flipping the head, but I still don't think they line up the same. If you follow the curve of the spine in the right photo, it should eventually cut through part of Nixon's head. In the left photo, it's clearly to one side of Nixon's head.

How does someone so crazy make so much money?

user-pic

And why, exactly, did it take so long for this to come to light? I mean, I'd also be embarrassed as all get out about it if I were him, but if it's true, it could have even spared his job. Though, I really have to agree w/Tim N's assessment of the situation. He probably lost his job for this anyway.

user-pic

Owbuecheler, you can clearly see in the picture on the left that Nixon's head is lined up with the back of the guy's neck, just as it is in the picture on the right. The spine does cut through Nixon's head in the left picture. It's just harder to see because the lighting is different.

That said... what the fuck? Is this guy out of his mind?

I suppose that's better than getting a tattoo on his face of Richard Nixon's back.

user-pic

i dont think he's using the tattoo parlor as an alibi. i think he was getting the tattoo on the day that the story broke. stone still hasnt provided a credible alibi.

from azi's possibly poorly worded post:

On the very day he was publicly accused of the phone shennanigans, according to Stone, he was in California, getting a tattoo on his back of Richard Nixon’s face.

I guess it's possible that lighting and angles are responsible for the differences in the photos. Dunno. They one on the left looks like it's at least three inches offset from the one on the right, to me, but I will concede this argument.

Round-trip ticket to L.A.: $600

One tatoo of Richard Nixon on your back from the Ink Monkey in Venice Beach: $800

Asking people to believe that the guy in that photo is the same Roger Stone stone with the blond mop-top in the other public photos of him: f---ing priceless.

Looks like a jailhouse tattoo from Club Fed(a minimum security prison). The alpha republican wants something to look at while he's asserting his alpha status. As quiet as it's kept, unlike some, things will shift and get back on an even (fairer) keel

So Roger is dying his hair now?

Unless I am totally confusing my GOP operatives. Are there more than one Roger Stone?

Liberals hate Stone because he beat Carter, Gore and now he's gonna
expose
Eliot Spitzer as the hypocrite and liar he is. You may disagree with
Stone
methods but u gotta love his goals
