4-Day-Old Baby Found in Shoebox

2007_09_timberlandbox.jpgThe cops were looking for an alleged gang member in Bed-Stuy when they found something very disturbing - a 4-day-old baby in a Timberland shoe box. After arresting the 21-year-old they were looking for, police found the baby girl in an apartment that is described as filthy. Also found in the apartment was a loaded .45-caliber pistol, ammo, and a small amount of cocaine. Police arrested the 19-year-old mother for endangering the welfare of a minor. The baby girl and a 15-year-old in the apartment were turned over to the Administration for Children's Services.

One police source told the Daily News, "The apartment was total hell - roaches, garbage everywhere. There was nothing around that looked like they were caring for this baby. No food. No nothings. Its only playmate was the roaches." The baby was taken for treatment to Woodhull Hospital, where she was born on September 2nd.

The baby's grandfather says that his daughter didn't put the baby in a box, "She didn't have the baby in a shoebox. The baby was in a car seat. She's a good mother and I'm a proud grandfather. She's doing the best she can."

This story is just apalling!!! There are people out in this world that want children so bad & then we have morons that will treat children like this!! The parents and grandparents should be absolutely ashamed of themselves and those kids should not go back to them. People have hard times but this is just plain ABUSE!!!!!

They (Timberlands) are comfortable!! Water proof and great to ride a motorcycle, or in the snow and rain!!

"What do black guys do all day?"

    Sit, sleep, watch TV.

I don't understand why Timberlands are so popular in urban environments. It's not as if most people wearing them have ever chopped firewood.

What do black guys do all day?

What the matter? They didn't sell enough crack this month to afford a crib?

Very nice to redeem yourself.... but that cracked me up!!!

if it was a Uggs box that'd be understandable.

Sorry, I can't leave the comment above without feeling like a real asshole.

I just had a baby boy. I simply can not imagine hurting a baby in anyway. I am not sure how or what compels a person to hurt a child. If I believed in an afterlife, I'd suggest that people like this will get what they asked for. But that's probably not the case. They'll just live their lives and be done with it.

I just don't get it. Try birth control. Hell, put the baby up for adoption. Sickening.

Step one: Cut a hole in a box.

Piss poor example that her parents and grandparents set for her. If this is the best that she can do, then it is not good enough. Why do the children always have to suffer at the hands of non caring savages!? I hate this kind of story.
